The Nook Interiors offer a range of craft workshops and courses at our specially designed studio in Frampton Cotterell, Bristol. 

Where To Find Us

Lampshade crafting

Workshops take place at the back of our gorgeous Frampton Cotterell shop in ‘The Craft Room’ – an inspirational making space which hosts up to ten people. Come and meet other friendly crafters, bring along a friend - or even book it for a group of you to enjoy a crafting experience together.

We Can Come To You

If your numbers are too big for us to host, we can bring our craft workshops to you. We have experience of providing workshops to large groups, using mindful craft activities to support the mental well-being of employees, carers and health workers.

Pressed Flower Workshop Half Day £95

Learn how to create your own floral masterpiece at this wonderfully relaxing & uplifting workshop.


Pressed flowers are everywhere right now - on Instagram, Pinterest and adorning the walls of all the most beautiful interiors. Whether your style is modern, rustic or vintage-inspired, pressed flower art enhances the walls of any home – and makes a gorgeous gift too!
 

Join Lou and learn the essentials of traditional flower pressing in this 3-hour botanical experience! Lou will share all the tips & techniques you need and demonstrate how to get successful results every time. You’ll then get to press your own selection of seasonal blooms in a handmade wooden flower press that is yours to take home & keep. Finally, choose from a selection of pre-pressed flowers picked from Lou’s own garden and use them to create your own beautiful piece of floral artwork to keep or gift.


Don’t worry if you've never done anything like this before, Lou will be on hand to offer ideas and guidance every step of the way.

Events

Introduction to Indian Block Printing: 3 hrs £50

This is the perfect workshop for anyone new to Indian block printing, or for those who want to refresh their existing skills. You'll start with a demonstration from Lou where you’ll learn all the techniques & tips you need to begin your Indian block print journey. Then the real fun begins! You get to play with our extensive range of beautiful hand carved wooden print blocks – experimenting with colours and techniques by printing onto a variety of practice materials. Once you’re feeling confident of your skills and are happy with your designs you get to print them - first on a selection of stationery items (cards/postcards/gift tags) and then onto a large fabric item of your choice.
 
Additional printable materials will be available to purchase on the day if desired.

Lampshade Making Workshop
Allow 2.5 hrs £50

Tired of trying to find that elusive ‘perfect’ shade to finish off your room or fit a particular lamp base? In this fun & rewarding workshop you will learn how to make your own contemporary drum lampshade in whatever fabric you choose! Create a statement 30cm diameter drum shade that will make a real impact in your home and enjoy knowing that you made it yourself! What’s more you will have gained all the skills to create many more – you’ll never need to buy a lampshade again!
 

Don’t worry if you’ve never done anything like this before, Lou will be on hand to guide you every step of the way, breaking down the process so it's an easy and enjoyable experience for all

What You Need To Bring:

A piece of medium weight firm cotton fabric. To make your 30cm Lampshade you'll need a piece of fabric measuring approx. 120cm x
30cm.


(If you are unsure about fabrics, please contact your Lou well in advance of the workshop for advice).

Indian Block Printing & Lampshade Making Full Day workshop
10.30am - 4.30pm £110

Learn the combined skills of Indian block printing and lampshade making to create a beautiful, bespoke shade in your own hand printed fabric. Join Lou for this wonderful full-day workshop to create something truly unique for your home.


Spend the morning learning the fundamentals of block printing and experimenting with technique, pattern and colour on practice fabric. When you are happy with your final design you will print it onto a piece of natural-coloured cotton linen fabric.


Enjoy a break and delicious lunch with a glass of fizz at the lovely Magnolia Mews Bakehouse next door, while your fabric dries.


In the afternoon Lou will guide you through all the stages of transforming your bespoke fabric into a unique and beautiful lampshade! Don’t worry if you’ve never done anything like this before - Lou will break the process down and be there to guide you every step of the way!

Printed lamp shade design

Macrame Leaves & Prosecco Workshop 2 hours £35

Join Lou to relax and de-stress at this mindful, nature-inspired workshop.


Make a collection of colourful, cotton macrame leaves to hang from a piece of driftwood creating a beautiful, decorative wall hanging. Learn how to tie a series of simple knots and how to preserve the shape of your macrame creation. Once you’ve mastered this technique you can recreate these gorgeous leaves in any size to make key rings, tie backs, bag adornments and even earrings!


Suitable for complete beginners.

What's Included:

  • A glass of prosecco to get your evening underway!

  • All the materials and equipment you’ll need, including a selection of colourful cotton cords and piece of driftwood

  • A choice of hot drinks & biscuits to keep you going!

Cancellation policy: Please note our workshops are non-refundable. However, if we receive a cancellation at least 7 days prior to the event, we are happy to rebook you onto another workshop within 12 months.

CrafterNoon Teas

A CrafterNoon Tea is the perfect way to celebrate a special
occasion - or to create one of your own! Spend some quality time
together with friends or family doing a fun & relaxing craft
activity in our Craft Room. Just gather your group, agree on a date
and we will provide all your craft materials, freshly baked scones
with jam, clotted cream, unlimited tea/coffee and a glass of
Prosecco!

Our lovely Craft Room is the perfect space for your crafty kid’s
next birthday bash! A great opportunity to get messy with their
mates - our party workshops are fun, friendly and creative.
Birthday workshops last for approximately 2 hours and can
accommodate up to 10 children. Choose your craft from our list of
creative activities below.


We provide all the materials, equipment and aprons. You just turn
up and have a lovely time - and most importantly walk away without
having to clear up any of the mess!!


Squash & biscuits included. £25 per child - minimum spend £100


(Feel free to bring your own cake & candles, party food or any
additional decorations!)

Kid’s party craft activities

  • Pebble Art pictures - create a piece of framed artwork using
    beautiful beach finds including pebbles, driftwood, dried seaweed and other coastal botanicals

  • Indian Block Printing – decorate a useful bag & pencil case or
    some pretty bunting to adorn your bedroom

  • Macrame Hanging Feathers – learn the simple knotting techniques required to create beautiful macrame feathers in a variety of sizes and colours

  • Pressed Flower Projects – make a glass jar lantern, decorative pebble and framed picture using pressed flowers

  • Air-dry Clay pots & hanging decorations – make a variety of small decorative items by impressing botanical patterns into 
    clay and then shaping them (note: these do not require firing
    in a kiln but will be taken home unpainted. Clay dries white)

  • Decoupage – use patterned papers to decorate various Papier Mache items such as letters & small boxes

If you’re looking for an original way to help your hen celebrate her special day, why not book a creative party in our lovely Nook & Cranny Craft Room. We can accommodate up to 12 people and provide all your materials, nibbles and a glass of celebratory Prosecco.(Feel free to bring more of your own!)


Everyone gets to create their own beautiful, handcrafted item to take away, plus a jointly made keepsake for the hen as a reminder of her special day.

We can be a small part of your bigger wellbeing event or tailor
bespoke packages to suit your needs. This includes hosting smaller
groups (up to 12 people) at The Craft Room (Link) in our lovely
premises in Frampton Cotterell or delivering workshops for larger
